Abstract

In carrying out the selection test for new student admissions at SMKN 1 Pasaman Barat, paper is currently being distributed to each test taker. This system requires a lot of paper as exam material and a lot of time in the process of providing test or test processing facilities. Other issues include the potential for exam cheating and the need for FSI scanning and scoring measures. Therefore, a computerized system is needed to assist providers in appropriate non-specialized acronyms. Researchers created a Computer-Based Selection Examination system that is very valid and practical in terms of data management and time management. This form of study is considered Research and Development (R&D). The 4-D development model is used. The product validity test was carried out by three validators consisting of one evaluation expert and two media experts. Thirty class X students of West Pasaman Vocational School took part in a product trial to evaluate the usefulness of the designed CBT product. The instruments used were interview sheets, questionnaires, research format, practicality and validity, and data were analyzed using the sampling method. The first step is to carry out a needs analysis and analysis of facilities and infrastructure. Initial product development was carried out by creating flowcharts and test kits using the Ispring Suite application. Based on the validation results from validator 1, a value of 4.875% was obtained in the valid category. A value of 4.875% was also obtained from validator 2 with a valid category. The results of the student practicality test resulted in a Practical category score of 4.38. Thus it can be concluded that the CBT developed for the Major Selection Test in Vocational High Schools is valid and useful.
