Abstract

The development of learning web-based media for social studies subjects in class VIII SMPN 12 Padang is motivated by being absent webblog media for learning that can support the study from process which at SMPN 12 the facilities and infrastructure are not utilized properly in making media for the learning process, teachers still use simple and monotonous media because it fails to pique the interest of students and makes students bored in participating in learning activities that resulted in the learning outcomes of students of quality VIII SMPN 12 Padang many who do not meet the minimum level of completeness (KKM). The development of learning web-based media is made to produce web-based learning products that are valid and practical and are also able to provide new variations for students in the process of learning so that they can make students more interested in and motivated to learn. Such a type of development is the Research and Development (R&D). The method of development used is the ADDIE model. The ADDIE model consists of five development stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. The product validation results from the media validator 1 obtained "very valid" results with a standard of 4.90 and from the media validators 2 obtained "very valid" results with a standard of 4.55. The outcome of the material validation test by the material validator obtained "very valid" results with a standard of 4.38. While the practicality test was carried out with students  in the seventh grade of SMPN 12 Padang, the results were "very practical" with a standard of 4.31. Overall, it is possible to deduce that the learning webblog media developed is "very feasible" to utilize in social studies subjects for class VIII SMP.
