Abstract

Based on the problems found at SMPN 4 Padang in science subjects in class VII, it was found that students were less interested in participating in science learning, because the teacher used the Geschool application in learning where the material was presented in the form of a PDF file containing abstract information without any media explanation. is verbal, resulting in the media used being inefficient during learning time because the media is in the form of PDF material that summarizes a lot of material. Animated video media can be used as an alternative to fix problems in the learning process by using the inquiry method or being more real. This study aims to develop a valid  and practical animated video learning  media  in  accordance  with  the criteria  for material eligibility and media feasibility in science subjects for  class VII at SMP Negeri 4 Padang. The type of  research used is development research known as Research and Development (R&D), using the Borg and Gall development model. The validity test of the animated video media product was carried out  by 3 (three)  validators namely 1(one) material validator and 2 (two) media validators. An animation video media product trial was conducted on 15 students of classVII.5 at SMP Negeri 4 Padang. Based on the results of research on the development of animated videos in science subjects for class VII SMP, it 


shows that this development procedure goes through 10 (ten) steps of the Borg and Gall development model. This media development procedure gets the results of product validity testing on the material aspect being at the achievement of "Very Valid" with a value  obtained by the validator of 4.8 out of a maximum score of 5 with a percentage of 97%, then for the media aspect it is at the achievement of "Very Valid" with a value of The average obtained by validator I and validator II is 4.76 from a maximum score of 5 with a percentage of 95%. Furthermore, the results of the practicality test of animated video media products based on the trials that have been carried out are at the achievement of "Very Practical" with an average value obtained of ___ from a maximum score of 5 with a percentage of __%. The conclusion of this study is that animated video media in science subjects is feasible to use in the learning process.
