Abstract
This research is motivated by the importance of using learning media as an effort to increase students' motivation and focus in the learning process. Inadequate learning tools and resources and lack of student motivation in learning are obstacles in the science learning process in schools. Therefore, learning media is needed to support the learning process to be more interesting and fun. The purpose of this study is to develop learning media using Microsoft Powerpoint applications on the material of temperature, change, expansion, heat, and the black principle that are feasible and practical to use in the learning process. This type of research is a development research conducted at SMP PERTI Padang with a sample of 20 students of class VII. The model used in this study is the Borg & Gall model with the stages of planning, initial product development, testing, product revision, and final product. The results showed that (1) the suitability of the teaching materials tested by the material validators got a percentage of 100% with the "very appropriate" category of material. (2) The feasibility of the media tested by the media validator gets a percentage of 97% with the media category "very valid". (3) The practicality test of learning media by students got a percentage of "4.67%" in the "very practical" category. From the results of these studies, it can be concluded that the learning media using the Microsoft Powerpoint application in science learning class VII in SMP/SEDERAJAT is practical and feasible to be used as a medium in learning activities.
