Abstract
The background of this development research is because it sees the condition of students who do not focus on learning in elementary schools, especially in class V. Based on field observations with interviews with class V teachers, this problem occurs because of the use of less innovative teaching media by the teacher or the use of teaching media. which is modest so that it is less attractive to elementary school students. The purpose of this development research is to develop animated cartoon-based instructional video media on the theme of 8 grade V elementary schools. This type of research is research and development or Research and Development (R&D) using the Borg and Gall model. Data were collected using observation,ā€¯questionnaires, documentation, and assessment formats. The results of the development show that the animated cartoon-based learning video media is suitable for learning on the theme of 8 grade V SD. The feasibility of instructional video media based on animated cartoons by material experts received a percentage value of 97% with the criteria "Very Good", and from media experts received a "Very Good" rating with a percentage value of 99.17%.
