Abstract
This study aims to produce motion graphic video media as a medium of learning in accordance with the eligibility criteria material, media, and practicality on the subjects of Citizenship Education class VII. This type of research is the development of research known as the Research and Development (R & D). This study uses a model of development proposed by Borg and Gall. Stage of this model is modified into five steps, which are planning early product development, product validation, testing is limited and the final product. This research was conducted in the subjects of Citizenship Education in the 1st half with material 1 and 2 discussion of basic competence. Products development was rated by 1 person the subject matter expert teachers of Civics class VII SMP Negeri 2 Padang and 2 the media expert lecturer of Curriculum and Educational Technology. Rate practicalities test conducted by 20 people VII.6 grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Padang. Testing is done in 2 ways validity and practicalities.
The validity of the test results of products by 3 is 1 person validator validator matter experts and 2 validator media expert. Validity test results of products for a material aspect in the category "very valid" with the value obtained by 4.88 validator, to aspects of the media were categorized "very valid" with the value obtained validator I amounted to 4.81 and validators II amounted to 4,86 , Furthermore, the practicality of the product trials conducted to 20 students of class VII. 6 in SMP Negeri 2 Padang. for practicality test results of products based on trials that have been carried out in the category "very practical" with the value obtained by 4.69. Thus the development of motion graphic video media is appropriate for use in the learning process.
