Abstract

This research was conducted using a quantitative method of the type of quasy experiment. The study population was all students of grade VII of SIMA Padang Middle School consisting of 4 classes with a total of 128 students and the sample was taken by purposive sampling technique, students of class VII.2 as the experimental class and students of class VII.1 as the control class, each amounting to 32 people. Data collection in this study used objective tests as many as 20 items and data collection tools in the form of test sheets. The type of research data is in the form of student learning outcomes data and the data source is student grades. The data obtained were analyzed using a t-test. Based on the results of the research carried out obtained. The results of the analysis using the t-test showed the results of tcount 4.213 while ttable 2,000 at the level of confidence (a 0.05), so that tcount> ttable. The conclusion that can be drawn is that there are significant differences in student learning outcomes using the Small Group Discussion method on Remedial Teaching compared to using conventional learning on Remedial Teaching.
